Chunrong Zhao

Chunrong Zhao received the B.E. degree in Energy and Power Engineering from Shandong University, Jinan, China, in 2015, the M.S. degree in Engineering Thermophysics from University of Chinese of Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China in 2018, and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, in 2023. Since 2022, he has been employed as a Research Associate at the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, The University of Sydney. His research interests include battery thermal management, thermal energy storage, heat transfer within porous media, and power-to-X. Dr Zhao has published more than 25 journal articles and one book chapter. He has received several conference awards and was named as the 2025 Australian Research Field Leader in Thermal Sciences. He serves as guest editors for Frontiers in Energy Research and Energies and is the Young Editorial Board Member for Energy Storage and Saving Journal.
